Eligibility based on need
At Youth in Motion, a student’s wellbeing is our top priority. That’s why we make sure a youth worker onboards each new student, and gathers all information necessary to ensure student’s needs are met
Wellbeing is our top priority
Currently, Youth in Motion provides tutoring to those in years 7-12. We employ a holistic definition of disadvantage with student eligibility assessed on a case-by-case basis
Tutoring is conducted via Google Meets and Zoom
Similar to in-person tutoring, online tutoring pairs a tutor and student depending on relevant criteria including subject, availability and tutor experience.
Tutors set their availability and provide their students with booking options
Who can be a tutor?
High school graduates, teachers in training, experienced high school tutors
What does YIM tutoring involve?
YIM wants to ensure tutor and student wellbeing. For this reason, all tutors are onboarded and trained before tutoring. We ask that you hold a current Working With Childrens Check and undergo a Police Check
What’s the time commitment?
Tutors are able to pick their own availability and modify availability based on capacity. Our TLP team checks in with tutors regularly to ensure that tutors are able to keep up with their tutoring responsibilities
Youth in Motion is currently in need of funds to grow its in-person tutoring service. Every dollar goes directly to helping us reach more schools and more students in need.
